Kakari Software Features

There are several features which are standard in all our software. These general features provide users the added flexibility to customize the system to suit their needs. Features that users have available include the following: Open architecture, database-level modification, screen painting, images, user-defined security, update on-the-fly, key edit, context sensitive help, copy/merge and many more.

Application Database Modification

 
  • Easily add tables, fields, sorts, relations, tabs, buttons, and update screens to the application.
  • Automatically update the database to reflect changes.
  • Change field lengths without worries of data loss or the using of complicated data conversion procedures.
  • Relate data within the original application to data in add-on modules .
Context Sensitive Help  
  • Usage is explained with a right click on any field or button.
  • Those with access rights can edit the help.
Copy/Merge  
  • Generic copy feature reduces repetitive data entry.
  • Able to copy a record and its related records.
  • Flag each field in the table and related tables to either copy or not.
  • Merge will automatically check for duplicates and merge related data. For example, merging two accounts into one.
Custom Interfaces  
  • Function buttons are added through data dictionary and the program name is attached.
  • Custom interface program can be written and attached within the applications.
  • Future upgrade need not affect the customization.
Date Field  
  • All date fields have a calendar feature associated and it is displayed in full screen mode in Windows format.e.g. 28, June 2001
  • The newest version can also include a time.
Default  
  • Any field can be assigned a default value when a new record is created. Defaults can be specified to be the previous entry, which reduces data entry time.
Grid Displays  
  • Grids are visible by default.Grids support calculated fields.
  • Grids support lookup data from other tables.
  • Grids can be filtered for reports.
  • Users control which columns to display.
  • Column widths can be permanently resized to match your data requirements.

Key Edit  
  • Able to change record keys (e.g. account codes or personal ID's) and have the system update all related records thus maintaining data integrity.
  • Having to rename a major item is no longer a problem.

Open Architecture  
  • User interface is data driven.

Record Locking (Multi-user)


 
  • Record locking is set to "optimistic" by default.
Relational Deletes  
  • User-defined relations determine which associated attachments should be deleted when a record is deleted.
  • Relation can be set for "delete" or "protect delete" so user must first delete related records manually before deleting the main record.

Security  
  • Security system is COMPLETELY customizable by the end user.
  • Security level codes (Full, View, and None) can be applied on screens and function buttons.
  • Users with None do not see buttons or tabs that are not required.
Spell Checker  
  • This option can be used on any field or memo.
Subset Selection  
  • Drill down can optionally display only subset records on grid.
  • Fast data access for small and very large tables.
  • Users can override selection by screen.

Tabs that Remember  
  • If reviewing a record (e.g. equipment record) and tab to another related table (e.g. equipment history), the grid will point to the correct history record.
  • As you navigate related records, the application "remembers" where you came from.
Text Lookup Display  
  • When data is referenced in other tables, user will view both the data and its description. For example, Account Code 10765 (a production equipment maintenance code) would look like:

    10765 -> Production Equipment Maintenance

Export  
  • Export any report to Excel, PDF, RTF (Word), ASCII (text) formats.
Filters  
  • Every screen has a user friendly filter wizard. Example: show equipment attached to account 13490 and under warranty.
  • Works great with quick reports.
Update-on-the-fly  
  • Option of editing any pick-list on the spot.
  • Never go elsewhere to update a table.
  • Update on the fly is security protected.
