Foley's Chocolates and Candies, Ltd.

This chocolate producer sends their tasty products all over the world. Foley's Chocolates and Candies are especially busy before Christmas and Easter so their maintenance schedules were difficult to optimize. Kurt Gagel, the owner, knew something had to be done. The business was growing and it was time to get a grip on preventing maintenance breakdown and reducing costs.

The Objective

To set up a computerized maintenance management system with integrated inventory control.

The Solution

IGOR! We were invited on-site to present a solution for Foley's owner, Kurt Gagel. Immediately following the presentation, a deal (which included a basic three day training program and implementation help) was made.

Result

Mr. Gagel never looked back. Over the next eight years there were upgrades, staff changes and of course some significant reductions in downtime. The production department scheduled which eight-hour shifts the chocolate lines would run. They decided that Pavel Lautner, the production manager, would pass this information to maintenance. This allowed scheduling of maintenance tasks precisely by the number of shifts the equipment had been subjected to. This proved much more reliable than scheduling by days in a highly seasonal operation.
